More of the Murals by Jos at Good Ole Tom's

Back on April 26, I posted photos of Jos Villabrille’s work in progress (and a couple of Jos doing the work) at the new Good Ole Tom’s location just east of Wilmot on Broadway.

One week ago (August 24), Mark Fleming sent his photos of this gorgeous building. As always, Mark: Thanks from me and from everyone who enjoys this blog.

Let's see them! First, though, I'll re-post my photo of the front of the store back in April.

Front (south wall)

Back (north wall)

East wall

This first photo shows the front (left side) of the east wall. The second photo shows the rest of it:

West wall

I don't have a good overall photo of the west wall, but I can tell that some of these photos are from there. If you notice that any of the others below belong to a different wall, please send me email so I can move them. (Thanks!)

Tramp's Auto Repair (!)

I found this mural September 13, 2012 on Tramp's Auto Repair, 4101 E. 29th:

(I saw it again a month or so ago.) It's painted on the closed garage doors. When Tramp's is open, the doors are too — with real cars inside. What fun!

Rock Martinez and Odie painted the doors. Here are photos from CyFi's (Rock's) website.

Paste-ups on Melwood Ave.

Mark Fleming sent photos of two paste-ups on a derelict building at the corner of West Congress Street and North Melwood Avenue:

The photos’ EXIF data (the hidden info in a digital photo file) says that Mark took these on August 17. The second one was already peeling... so, if you want to check them out in person, go soon!

Thanks, as always, Mark.

Mexicayotl Academy

Mark Fleming just sent these photos of the gorgeous murals at 667 North 7th Avenue.

Thanks, as always, Mark!

Update (May 18, 2015): The murals have faded, as you can see in today's entry.

Changes at the top :)

Long-time readers of this blog have gotten used to a header that looked like this:

I've simplified that. I've moved the info from that former header to the top right corner of every page — in a page titled Send your photos!

On the road in Deming, NM

I've been traveling back and forth between Albuquerque and Tucson — which is part of why I haven't been posting many murals! I spotted this one while I was pulled off I-10 in Deming, New Mexico. It's behind an empty lot along Gold Street, halfway between Pine Street and I-10... click there for a satellite view from Google.

(By the way, Deming's cheapest gas stations tend to be along the western part of Pine, which parallels I-10 a couple of blocks to the south.)

Update: On October 30, 2013, the sequel: Hatch (NM) Hijinks.
